Parts from Scooter Center

Okey, parts from LTH Teile  and Scooter Center just recently arrived, some pictures here.
LTH parts was mainly chosen for some of their custom parts.
 small package with goodies...

Including a metal ignition disk...

Eccentric motor cones...

and some high quality bushings for the fork.

This part is a custom extended throttle lift. The scooter will feature a larger carburettor, so this will be a nice touch.

The Scooter Center package was far bigger:

including a range of parts for several scooters...

Most important LED taillight and new glass headlight.

The Casa Lambretta headlight rim vs. Scootrs headlight rim. The Casa Lambretta is slightly higher quality, possibly due to extensive polishing, but bearly noticeable.

I also got the MB Developments high quality rear brake pedal, much nicer than the original.

Scootrs parts arrived

Finally the 36kg Scootrs package arrived! My little daughter was just as eager as her dad to wrap open the large box!

Two different baggage trays, the large one for carrying spare wheel, I'll probably fit the small one for day to day driving.
Some Scootrs tubeless 160GS/180SS rims had also found its way into the package... For Regine. (The Lambretta will use SIP tubeless, which would be my choice of rims for the 180SS as well, but they're not available in the wide size)

For future use, I'd also added some repair panels for Smallframe...

...and Largeframe... Just in case I'd fall over a "rotten" project.

Courtesy of Scootrs, the official 2012 Calendar.

Now, some custom items will be present on the SX. I fell for this seat, just hope it is good to sit on....

A complete taillight was purchased as well, although the housing will most certainly get painted.

Hydraulic brake reservoir, polished. Can't wait, this was much nicer than anticipated!

The front shield was the main reason for testing out shopping at Scootrs. The panel seems ok, but will require some welding due to a misaligned hole. Some additional holes will also be drilled.

But very acceptable, and unbeatable on price!

I've spent most of the evening sorting out the different parts.

 And somehow I managed that.

 See-through boxes are underrated...

Now the fun can start! I would say the SX200 now is 98% complete in terms of parts. Time to start restauration!

Tubeless - extended bolts

As opposed to the tubeless SIP rims for Vespa, the Lambretta tubeless need extended bolts to work. Test fitting the drum confirms this.

 Reverse side...

The tubeless rims are supplied with the necessary extension bolts. Now for the original rear drum I will have to machine out the existing bolts. On the new front diskbrake drum, I was able to unscrew ("links"!) the bolts by hand.

Extension bolts 10-15mm longer...

I will most likely leave the original bolts in before paint, and replace them with the extended ones afterwards.

Mounting tubeless

Just a quick update. Still waiting for a 36kg package from Scootrs, I had some spare time to kill. So I've mounted all three polished tubeless with Schwalbe Raceman tires. Once you get the hang of the tubeless, you will never go back.

Cambridge Lambretta Workshop package

Second package of parts arrived a few days ago, from Cambridge Lambretta Workshop.

 Some "original" paperwork...

...and mostly tooling and screws... but also reinforced front springs, a fast flow fuel tap and a air filter scoop.

The SX200 is receiving a full makeover on bolts and nuts, everything will be new and in stainless steel quality.

Additional fork pictures

Just grabbed some quick photos from the garage today, primarily showing the bent fork rods that will need replacement.

Some parts haven't made it to the garage yet...

Bent fork rods, will need replacement.

Forks completely dismantled and checked. Several of the parts will be replaced.

Just a visual of degreased engine parts.

The engine will receive several upgrades and replacement parts.

SIP anticipation

First package of scooterparts arrived today, first off: SIP scootershop.

Anticipation...
Mostly SX200 stuff, Schwalbe Raceman tires...

...and 3 polished tubeless rims. The rims contain new stud bolts, as the tubeless require longer studs than the original bolts allow. Quick fix (I hope).

And a SIP digital speedo had also found its way into the package.

Seems to be a tight fit!

Battery tray chop and dismantling of fork

A nice day here in Stavanger, time to spend some quality time with the SX200! The chassis was brought out in the sun, and the frame was stripped for all remaining screws/items that was still fixed to the chassis. Rear badge holder, some screws for the rear plate, and some screws remaining on the floor was taken away.

Since the scooter is receiving a TS1 setup, the battery tray needs to be chopped away.

Battery tray chopped away.

Further on, a full disassebly of the fork was carried out, dismantling all parts. The parts were degreased, sadly so was also my camera... so no more pictures of the dismantled fork today.

The fork rods were to my surprise bent, so new ones need to be sourced for rebuild. I've already ordered several parts rebuild parts for the fork, but most likely I've not added those. Anyway: Fork is now ready for sandblasting.

So is chassis.

Chassis and motor

The chassis seems very robust. It has been sandblasted, showing no signs of severe rust.

Chrome ring edition...

Curved forms, the panels are really thick!

 Sound underneath...

Nothing to fix back here either...

Okey here too.

 Very sound!

Frame seems very straight.

Brake pin in place.

The new parts cleaner was used for degreasing all engine parts... Original SX motor showing.

Part cleaner really doing its job.

Breakage in gear housing.

And this crack is probably more severe: One of the Engine Mount holes is potentially cracked, rendering this part useless. No worry; a new SIL motor block was part of the deal.

Okey.

Okey.

Engine and clutch components get same treatment. Clutch will be replaced, missing parts will be exchanged.

Now: Ordering parts.
